A very warm welcome to our Senior Center at the Geisel

Our small senior Center is, since its opening in 2005, located at the shore of the river Geisel in the center of the town Mücheln/Geiseltal. The location of the social center bribes on the one hand with its calm and relaxing environment and on the other hand with its proximity to the town center and its excellent connections to public transport services. In addition there are also adequate car parks for visitors available.

This is the reason why guests and residents can comfortably enjoy the offers of the small city Mücheln which is close by. There are also a lot of places in the region which invite you to go for a walk or to explore them. Especially the harbor at the wonderful Geiselvalleylake is fascinating with a maritime flair and a fresh sea breeze and offers boat trips across the lake.

The senior center comprises three floors on which five living units with respectively eight residents are established. The manageable general conditions ensure a familial atmosphere which is also reflected by our friendly and dedicated staff.

Our senior center bribes with spacious single rooms which have their own bathroom and are equipped with a shower at ground level, a washbasin and a toilette. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture and decoration so that they can setup their rooms individually in order to create an intimate atmosphere.

We pay special attention in supporting our residents in providing as much independency, for them, as possible in their daily activities, like for example by supplying the cozy eat-in kitchens. These enable, on a couple of days during the week, an active co-design of the menu. Joint baking and cooking go hand in hand.

A familial atmosphere with room for self-determined living

Our competent staff accompanies our residents lovingly and supports them energetically in every life situation. The person with all his/her needs and individual characteristics comes first. This is the reason we continue to attach importance to a close co-operation with attending physicians and relatives.

The quality of life and the well-being of our residents is our main focus. Thereby the life together stands in the foreground. Therefore meals are consumed together in the eat-in kitchens. Eating together creates a familial atmosphere- during lunch, the afternoon cake, a nutritious breakfast or during a tasty dinner. We also offer a diversified program composed of single- and group activities, like for example crafting and riddles as well as fall prevention. We also welcome the pets of our residents who will also find a new home. We are in close co-operation with a school and a kindergarten, so that regular visits and joint festivities take place.

Our services for your well-being

Day Care

In the day care, 12 seniors are being picked up at home by our driver service, in order to have breakfast together at our house. Big and lovingly equipped common rooms, with their own eat-in kitchens, enable a peaceful get-together and a communicative exchange between the seniors. Entertaining measures of the house are at the disposal of the seniors as well as the wonderful garden and the sunny balconies. A wholesome lunch is being consumed together in the bright premises. Afterwards a separate rest- and bedroom can be used. After coffee and cake, in the afternoon, the day care seniors are dropped off at home. According to individual wishes services of our house and of external providers can be used in order to shape life as pleasant and self-determined as possible.
