A very warm welcome to our Senior Center Priorau!

Our Senior Center is located in the dreamy place Priorau in the northern tip of the administrative district Bitterfeld. In a beautiful piece of woodlands, which is part of the biosphere reserve Mittelelbe, our residents can find peace and relaxation, without having to go without an active life. In the middle of the heart of nature our seniors can enjoy, in our house with two floors, their sunset years and can be pleased with the view over splendid tree crowns and blossoming vegetation. A close by farm shop invites you to buy fresh products from the farm.

This beautiful location creates a unique and enchanting living atmosphere including a high quality of life. The house convinces by offering modern comfort and comfortable nursing rooms. Thanks to newest technology our nursing staff can be reached by a call system installed in every room and bathroom.

Every employed staff member conforms their activities to the guidelines of care and nursing of the senior center Priorau, which enables the satisfaction of individual needs and wants of the residents. Residents can and should bring their favorite furniture (small pieces of furniture) with them in order to create a pleasant living atmosphere in their new home. All 26 single- and 12 double rooms are furnished and equipped with a comfortable bed, wash basin, shower and WC.

Room for encounters, exchange and togetherness can be found in the lovely furnished and bright common rooms as well as in the communication niches. Our residents can choose from a variety of daily activities which enable them, according to their personal interests, to participate in group activities. For example: domestic activities, handicraft work, discussion groups, memory training or baking and cooking together in the therapy kitchen. In addition to the numerous possibilities in the house and garden there are also popular seasonal festivities in the program. Furthermore a close co-operation with the local kindergarten and music school create moving moments during visits of the children groups.

It is important to us to encourage a self-determined life among senior citizens, in the process the individual is always at the focus of our attention. Here we are in close co-operation with attending physicians and relatives. The quality of life and the well-being of our residents is our top priority. The life together in a group and the friendly exchange between residents always stands in the foreground.
